Regain Control

I don’t know what happened, but since I got back from the Philippines I’ve felt out of control. The discipline I had physically, mentally, and spiritually just went out the window. I could blame it all on peer pressure or not quite getting out of vacation mode, but discipline is all about persevering. We’re not quite halfway through the year so there’s a lot of time to accomplish personal goals that I’ve set for myself.

I’d really like to believe that you can turn it on and off like a light switch, but discipline is a process. And in order to stay disciplined, you have to know why you’re doing what you’re doing and remind yourself of it constantly.

My ultimate motivation/goal? Be a better man of God.

Here’s to getting back on track.

Visible Children: We got trouble. →

jeremypassion:

For those asking what you can do to help, please link to visiblechildren.tumblr.com wherever you see KONY 2012 posts. And tweet a link to this page to famous people on Twitter who are talking about KONY 2012!

I do not doubt for a second that those involved in KONY 2012 have great intentions, nor…

READ FULL BLOG ABOVE BEFORE READING MY OPINION BELOW.

**Before reading below, please note that my opinion doesn’t reflect Visible Children’s views nor opposes them. I just think it’s better if we’re more informed.

Knowing more than one side of a story is important in making a clear judgement on a situation. To support IC’s KONY 2012 campaign or not to support IC’s KONY 2012 campaign. You decide.

Personally, I think the blog gives many valid points regarding Invisible Children and their motives. I’ve worked with Invisible Children on different accounts the past few years doing a few shows for them and buying their bracelets. I have no doubt in my mind that their intentions are in a good place, they obviously know more about the situation than I do because they’ve been going to Uganda for years (I have never been there), and they’re obviously doing a good thing raising awareness about Joseph Kony and his evil schemes.

IC’s KONY 2012 campaign is GENIUS in a sense that they’re starting a huge movement around the world and getting people to wonder, “Who is Kony?”. Clearly, what Joseph Kony is doing is dead WRONG and upon watching the KONY 2012 30-minute viral video that has been passed around, even a little kid knows he’s wrong. It’s just the politics around it and Americans trying to “kill and capture” Joseph Kony has caused alot of problems and sometimes have made matters worse in their country..

All in all, please take a moment to read the original blog above and make a clear decision of not WHO you’re going to support (because we all know that Kony’s evil schemes are an injustice to those kids and might i add, inhumane.), but HOW you can support. Should you purchase a $30 Action Kit or should you just print out your own posters and stickers? That’s up to you to decide.

I’m a big believer that we have to choose our battles. There are so many injustices in the world and we can’t win them all. Invisible Children has done a lot towards bringing justice to these child soldiers (More than I could ever do!), i’m just saying, we should just know both sides of a coin before making any big decisions..
That’s my two cents…
